Intuitive Sound Circle 6/18/19 – Oakland

7:00pm – 8:30 pm

Based on my training in sound healing, sacred chant, shamanic journeying, divine vocal lessons from masters in India, and connections with beautiful life force energies, this will be a intimate circle in my sweet cottage in Oakland.

We sink into the energies of the day, of the room, of the people in the circle, of the unseen forces all around and play and connect with them! We explore how the sound lives in our bodies, especially in our arms and hands.

Starting with grounding practices and vocal warm ups, we begin humming, toning, chanting, singing, and usually ending with a meditation and sound bath. I will use sruti box, electric tanboura, Tibetan bowls, drums, rattles and other instruments. Each circle is unique.

Expect outcomes including bliss, joy, relaxation, stress-reduction, healing, connection, wonder, and empowerment.

One person who came to the circle last month reported that she had the best night of sleep she’s had in a long time, and she woke up with more energy and less pain.

I’m initiating a new project in Oakland: “Intuitive Sound Circles.”

Based on my training in sound healing, sacred chant, shamanic journeying, divine vocal lessons from masters in India, and connections with beautiful life force energies, this will be a intimate circle in my sweet cottage in Oakland.  I plan to hold it several times a month, depending on my schedule back and forth between Oakland and Mendocino.

This Intuitive Sound Circle will build on what I’ve learned from the delicious circles I’ve been holding up in Mendocino for the last two years called “Joyshops.”

We sink into the energies of the day, of the room, of the people in the circle, of the unseen forces all around and play and connect with them! We explore how the sound lives in our bodies, especially in our arms and hands.

Starting with grounding practices and vocal warm ups, we begin humming, toning, chanting, singing, and sometimes ending with meditation and/or sound baths. I will use sruti box, electric tanboura, Tibetan bowls, drums, rattles and other instruments. Each circle is unique. Expect outcomes including bliss, joy, relaxation, stress-reduction, healing, connection, wonder, and empowerment.

I ask for a love donation of $5-$25 (sliding scale) for each circle. (I’m also open to barter.) I plan to hold the circles approximately twice a month, depending on my ever-shifting travel schedule.

My summer has been so full of sacred sounds, travel, fun, dancing, laughter, hard work, long walks, singing circles, meditations, sacred ceremonies, and friendships. I’ve made some amazing new friends in my travels, at the Vox Mundi week-long retreat at the Pema Osel Ling retreat center in the Santa Cruz mountains, at several other sacred gatherings, and through other friends. I am so grateful for the expanding circles. I feel UNITY CONSCIOUSNESS growing and growing!

I’ve hosted some super fun and deep sound circles in both Mendocino and Oakland this summer, and plan to start a regular schedule in the fall. Please contact me if you’d like to be included in the magic…….

I Wish

I wish that I could tell you why

Why somebody that loves you

Somebody that loves you at least in some kind of convoluted way

Could make choices that

Leave you on the ground in a puddle

Confused and broken in three precise pieces.

One piece that runs away and leaves you

To go to a happy place where people that love you really love you

And don’t betray you and lie to you and tell you yes and tell you no.

Another piece that believes

Truly believes that you had this coming

That you will never find somebody that makes you feel at home and safe.

And another that is full of the boiling rage of a madman

Bursting with a taste for blood

And so frenzied inside that it seems the next pattern
